Surprise Pregnancy - male now neutered - can he be left in hutch?

Took my 2 male rabbits to be neutered today only to find out one of them is pregnant!

Neutering complete but will it be ok to leave him in the hutch during and after the pregnancy ?

The factories may be gone, but the ammo remains in the launching tubes for around 2 weeks. :-)

It'd be really smart to keep the two rabbits separated for at least 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks, and then introduce them carefully.

The fact that the doe is pregnant might complicate matters - she will likely have delivered when that 2-3 weeks has passed, right?

So you'll want to make the re-introductions carefully to ensure that your buck will be kind to the kits. Some bucks, even if neutered, are not reliable around kits, but many of them are. This is why you'll want to closely supervise the two animals until you're certain the kits are safe and the two adults will be best friends as before.

If the buck wants to hump the doe upon initial introductions, you might want to give him one more week. If in a week you see the same tendency, at least you'll know that the live ammo has been replaced by blanks.

Enjoy your rabbits!
