Is my doe pregnant?

My brother's mixed rabbit has humped my mini lop bunny more than one time, but he never fell off of her with a grunt, because we would always get him off her. (We don't want any babies.) I've been noticing that the female has been grunting at pretty much everything, and digging on my carpet every time I let her out of her cage. She also stomps her feet at me, and she kind of looks fat too.

I think it just might be that she's mad at me,and maybe because she eats too much....?

I am 12 years old
and I hope you know the answer :D

Hey Lexie, do you know the day you let the two rabbits 'play' together? Cuz you'd better get a nest box ready. The nest box goes into the cage on day 28 after breeding, and you can expect the babies on day 31-32.

If you don't remember the date, then get the nest ready and put it into the doe's cage asap.

Lexie, we hope you'll treat your own body with great honor, and don't let anyone take advantage, okay?

God bless you,
K

In the wild...immediately. And we have heard of domestic rabbits that have been rebred within a day of delivering kits when the buck and the doe are housed together.

Sorry that I put half a week, i meant that she got mounted around a whole week and a half ago. Do you know why she is stomping her feet at me all the time??? I think it might have to do with her being pregnant.

Do you think that a shoe box would work as a nest box??? And i think my brothers rabbit mounted her maybe half a week ago...:)

And thx 4 replying:)

Half a week ago...? You sure? So then your doe will need the nest in about 3 weeks (mark the calendar or put it in your phone or something so you don't forget - nest box goes in on day 28 after breeding).

No, a shoe box is probably too flimsy, unless you *know* the doe won't chew it to pieces. But you could use a plastic dishpan that fits into a kitchen sink. You'll have to make sure the rabbit won't flip it over -- you can tie it to the cage wire, possibly. More info at www.raising-rabbits.com/rabbit-nest-box.html
