Help bunnies!!

by Liz
(Tx)

We found baby bunnies in a play ground covered in ants. Even if we tried to move them some feet away they would still be in a play ground, surrounded by kids all day just looking for things to squash! any ways, I have managed to keep them alive for 3 days going on 4. I'm worried about the amount I'm supposed to feed them. I'm also worried because now their fur seems to be getting spots of missing patches on it? one of the babies also has a hurt leg which I just noticed this morning while he was practicing his hopping. I want them to make it so please help with any info possible.

It is not possible to make a diagnosis from here... Given that you found the kits, there could be any number of problems...ringworm (contagious!)...mange...fur mites...chewing (doubtful)...

Your best bet is to get an opinion from a rabbit-savvy vet, or at the very least, from a local reputable rabbit breeder, who will probably suggest the vet visit.

About feeding the babies, click on Feeding Rabbits on the navigation bar to the left, and then follow the link to Feeding Wild Rabbits. That page should help.

Good luck,
K
